Ruby Brigade Meeting

When: August 5th @ 11:30am Where: Office of Research and Statistics, 1942 Laurel Street, Columbia SC 29201

This talk will cover the Metasploit-framework, a powerful framework used by security professionals for developing, maintaining and using exploit code. Metasploit provides exploit code organization, tools to assist in exploit development and discovery, post-exploitation payloads, and the ability to add plug-in modules. The framework was originally developed in Perl but the authors switched to Ruby in order to speed up the development process and have since added their own custom payload, the Meterpreter. The presentation will give an overview of the different Metasploit features and conclude with a demonstration system penetration using Metasploit and the Meterpreter payload.

Pizza and soft drinks will be provided. Please let us know if you will be attending so we can order the correct amount of pizza.
